Your Wealth, Our Journey
Financial advice you can follow, from someone who knows your name.
Boutique financial advice in Burwood — superannuation, retirement planning, insurance and investment, explained plainly and built around your life.
About Us
Meet Peggy Pan
Principal Financial Adviser · MCom, MPAcc
Peggy founded M&P Financial Services with a straightforward conviction: good financial advice should feel less like a transaction and more like a conversation you can trust.
Before starting her own practice, Peggy built her expertise at some of Australia's largest financial institutions — including Commonwealth Bank and AIA Financial Planning — where she advised across superannuation, retirement planning, insurance and investment. She brings a Master of Commerce and a Master of Professional Accounting, along with the practical perspective that comes from years inside major organisations.
That corporate background is precisely why she chose to go small. At M&P you deal with Peggy directly — no call centres, no handoffs, no receptionist standing between you and the person who wrote your plan. She explains every recommendation in plain language before anything is put in place, because financial strategy works best when the adviser genuinely knows your circumstances.
Based in Burwood, M&P Financial Services advises clients across Sydney and, for those who prefer it, remotely by phone or video call.

Our approach
What guides us
Plain language
Financial services runs on jargon. We do not. If a recommendation cannot be explained clearly enough for you to repeat it at the kitchen table, it is not the right recommendation.
A boutique practice
You work with Peggy directly — the same person at the first meeting and at every review since. Small enough to know your circumstances, and to answer the phone.
The long view
The tagline is not decoration. Most of what matters in personal finance is decided over decades, and we would rather be the adviser you still have in twenty years than the one who sold you something today.
What we do
Our Services
Superannuation
Make the largest account you will ever own actually work for you.
For most people super quietly becomes their second-biggest asset, and almost nobody opens the statement. We look at where your money is invested, what it is costing you, whether the insurance inside it still suits your circumstances, and whether contributions are being made in the most effective way.
- Reviewing fund, investment option and fee structure
- Consolidating multiple accounts where it makes sense
- Concessional and non-concessional contribution strategy
- Insurance held inside super
- Beneficiary nominations, so the money goes where you intend
Retirement Planning
Turn a balance into an income you can rely on.
Retirement is less a date than a transition, and the questions change as you approach it. How much is enough. How to draw an income without watching the balance shrink faster than you expect. What happens to the plan if markets fall in your first year. We model those scenarios with you before they arrive.
- Working out what you need, and when you can stop
- Transition-to-retirement and pension phase strategy
- Drawing a sustainable income across market cycles
- Age Pension and Centrelink interaction
- Reviewing the plan as circumstances change
Insurance
Protection sized to your life, not to a sales target.
The purpose of personal insurance is simple: if something goes badly wrong, the plan holds. We work out what would actually be needed, what is already covered inside super or through an employer, and what the gap costs to close — then structure it so the premiums stay affordable over the long run.
- Life, total and permanent disability, trauma and income protection
- Working out an appropriate level of cover, not a default one
- Structuring cover inside or outside super
- Reviewing existing policies before replacing anything
- Support at claim time, when it matters most
Investment
A portfolio built around your goals, your timeframe and your temperament.
Good investing is mostly a matter of deciding what you are trying to achieve, choosing an approach you can hold through a bad year, and then staying out of your own way. We help you set that structure, keep costs and tax in view, and revisit it when your life changes rather than when the headlines do.
- Clarifying goals, timeframes and comfort with risk
- Asset allocation and diversification
- Keeping fees and tax consequences in view
- Regular rebalancing and review
- A plan you can stick to when markets are noisy
How it works
Our Process
An initial conversation
A relaxed, obligation-free meeting — in the Burwood office, or by phone or video. You tell us what is on your mind; we tell you honestly whether advice is likely to help, and what it would cost.
Understanding your position
We gather the detail: income, assets, super, existing cover, commitments and, most importantly, what you are hoping the money will do for you and the people you care about.
Your strategy, in writing
We prepare recommendations and walk you through them in plain language — what we suggest, why, what it costs and what the alternatives were. Nothing proceeds until it makes sense to you.
Implementation and review
We take care of the paperwork and put the strategy in place, then meet regularly to keep it current as tax rules, markets and your own circumstances move.
